The Why Behind Ride The Wave

What is our mission and goal?

Our goal of this blog is to expand Grey Bandit- not only as a clothing line, but to create a safe space and community where we can openly and honestly share our experiences in hopes of helping you with yours. We hope to be a friend, a sister, or even a confidant through this experience. We want to normalize “uncomfortable” conversations and reduce the stigma associated with mental health and mental illness. It is okay to not be okay; just remember that you are still loved, still valued, and still beautiful.

What do we hope you will get out of this blog?

We hope you will be able to have a space where you feel welcomed and can be heard. A space where you feel comfortable to share your emotions and feelings, and connect with others who might feel the same way you do. You may feel lonely in a world of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, but you are not alone. There are many people who feel similar to you, and it may feel comforting to know that. We hope our content will help you see and realize that “oh, hey-I feel that way too!”

We not only want to be heard, but we want to hear you too.

How can we relate, and how can we help?

Everyone has both mental and physical health. Most of us at Grey Bandit have either been through anxiety and/or depression, and we want to share that it is not easy to have struggles with mental health-but it is not impossible. Some days are tough, but there are also many good days. It is not always easy, but you have to “ride the wave” and accept what you cannot control-the good and the not so good. We will be providing resources and tools throughout this blog that may make “riding the wave” a bit easier for you.

What are we looking forward to?

We are looking forward to creating a safe and inviting place for all of us! We want to build a community that we wish we had during our times of struggle. We are looking forward to getting into topics that are not often talked about, but are so very important. We hope to share our perspective on what having mental illness or mental health struggles is like for us, and share helpful tips, resources, and our own experiences on what has helped us. Down the line, we would like you to ask us questions, tell us your stories, and share interviews with different organizations, businesses, and influencers. With that, we have some questions for you:

What content would you like to see?

Who should we interview?

What are other resources to consider?

If you or anyone else you know is struggling we are here to provide you with the proper resources. We know, asking for help can be scary, but we would be happy to point you in the right direction. If you are nervous about reaching out to a crisis hotline and you want to learn more information feel free to reach out to us. We are here for you. That is why we created this blog. Linked below, we are providing you with universal resources and ways to educate yourself and others.
