Monthly Spotlight: Active Minds
Throughout 2021, each month we highlighted a different mental health organization. We are closing off our 2021 spotlights with Active Minds. Active Minds is a nationwide nonprofit organization that was founded by Alison Malmon following the suicide of her older brother, Brian. Active Minds continually supports mental health awareness and education for young adults. In fact, they have 600+ chapters on campuses across the country. They are dedicated to saving lives and building stronger families and communities through mental health education, research, and advocacy. Active Minds is currently opening the dialogue for mental health and creating change in the way mental health is talked about, cared for, and valued in the United States. Like Active Minds, Ride the Wave believes that no one should have to struggle alone or silently. It is especially important for young adults to speak openly without judgement. We stand with Active Minds in their mission to reduce stigma, encourage treatment, and prevent suicide. Learn more at our newest blog post and stay tuned for more spotlights coming in 2022!
